Mission accomplished

I was stressed out with the details and the timing but Leighton was a very sweet baby and allowed her mommy to see the entire Paul Mc concert. She even wanted me to enjoy the monsoon that drenched us for half the show. I kept texting Marsh kind of hoping he would say "we need ya back here" as I was FREEZING but nah, he had it under control. And I am glad because I really didn't want to miss any of Sir Paul - he is just amazing. I sure hope I have that kind of energy at 67.

I'll be back to work in just over a week and I am looking forward to it. We still don't have a great routine down yet but maybe I can dictate that a little better once I am working. Hadley is transitioning from 2 naps down to one and that has been very challenging. The upside is she is now going to bed earlier in the evenings, giving us a little more time to 1) have adult conversation and 2) get a few more things done to be ready for the next day.

Don't tell my doc but I am back to running and it is wonderful!!! Amazing how it improves my attitude. Walking just wasn't doing it for me.

"Adjusting"

Laura, your comment made me laugh as you give me far more credit than is deserved! I am not sure if we are doing a great job at adjusting to 2 little ones...I feel like we are terrible parents to Hadley as everything is such a crisis to her right now and all she does is try to find trouble. I swear she is getting way more attention than Leighton (as Leighton really just sleeps and eats) but it's still not enough for Hadley right now. I don't think the "old" Hadley is coming back but I hope the "new" Hadley finds her sweet side again soon.

Leighton weighs 9lbs and grew a half inch (up to 21 in) as of her appt last Tuesday. So she is eating well. The last few nights have been better as far as sleep. I don't feel like such a zombie.

Big weekend coming up as YES, I am attempting to attend Paul McCartney. We have a hotel room on 10th Street so I hope to feed Leighton, leave a bottle, and get to the show. I won't get to be anywhere near the front but oh well, at least I can see the big screens and hear Sir Paul. My sister will be here with a college friend, as well as my brother and mom is going too. Fingers crossed I can pull it off. If not, at least I tried!!

Back to the routine

The past 2 weeks have been quite busy with family visits, dr appts, lots of feedings and the onset of the terrible twos. Aunt Devon headed back to Dallas this morning so it's back to the normal routine and I think that will help Hadley alot. She is definitely in the "adjusting" phase. I had a 2 week post op check this morning and all is well, although my dr thinks I am "overdoing" it. Who me? And I can walk "at a snails pace"...I've kind of been doing that for the past week anyway and walking compared to running is "a snails pace" to me!!! I'll take Leighton in tomorrow for her checkup and I look forward to seeing how much she is growing. We aren't doing that great at night yet but hopefully she'll see things my way soon...if I could get just one more hour of sleep I'd be set. I can function better off of 5 hours.

Now that it's just us around here I can start cleaning closets, organizing paperwork, and running errands before I head back to work on August 31st. I am also reading while I nurse so I'll knock out these Sookie Stackhouse books before moving on to Pat Conroy's latest which is due out soon. Then it will be time for some football watching while I train for the Atlanta 1/2 marathon. I can't wait.
