Waterlogged

Well, I'd say the drought is officially over. I don't remember a time when 3 of our interstates were shut down due to flooding? And even the downtown connector looked like a river yesterday...Jules - did you get snow?? No flooding near us but I was worried about our fish pond! I kept looking out the window during the monsoon to make sure no fish were flopping around in the yard!

Leighton had her 2 month appt last week and she weighs 11 lb 10 oz and is 23 inches long. So basically she is eating really well (and often). We go back in November for a 4 month check and Hadley's 2 year checkup. Today Leighton is having a hip ultrasound since she was breech. Hopefully that will check out ok.

Still trying to figure out what Hadley is going to be for Halloween. This will be her first year of trick or treating (which will consist of the houses on our street) and she LOVES the Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell. But I feel like she is still so young that maybe a "character" should wait a little while longer (ie Tinkerbell sure doesn't wear much. I didn't really notice that until now. LOL). Then again I am probably overthinking this a bit!! I'd like to figure out soon so I can get something ordered if necessary. Unfortunately I am not very crafty so a handmade costume may not turn out so well. I can probably handle a ghost?! But me making butterfly wings would probably be disastrous :)

It was 8th Grade...

And my friend Jennifer and I went to the movie theater to see some movie called Dirty Dancing. We were very excited because we were allowed to go in the first place...the word "dirty" was in the title! I also was super nervous because this boy I liked was there - Larry Dasher - and I was very worried about the whole "first kiss" thing. I didn't get kissed that night but boy did I fall in love...with Patrick Swayze. Did we all not want to be Jennifer Grey for just a little while??? Go off to summer camp in the Catskills?? Buy a few more pairs of Keds? I still know that soundtrack by heart; I have the songs in my head right now.

And don't even get me started on Ghost - I still cry my eyes out every time I see it.

I usually don't comment much when a celebrity passes away. But Patrick Swayze - I don't know - it's just so sad. And he could sure dance. Hopefully he is dancing again right now.

Kevin Bacon better stay healthy; I don't want to cry when I watch Footloose for the 1000th time, like I will next time I see Dirty Dancing. It's on about once a week on cable.

When I see you smile...

...yeah I can face the world (quick, name that late 1980s band)...

I remember a few months back writing about how busy life was and now I just can't help but laugh. Life is a bit of a blur right now. My first week back to work was really tough as I was so busy and Leighton was not allowing me much sleep. Thankfully this week has gone a little better but you know I am tired when I can't stay awake for football. On Monday that was a good thing as the Noles suffered another heartbreaking loss to Miami but I also missed Tech's game winning FG last night. I had made it to the middle of the 4th quarter but the next thing I knew Marsh was turning off the TV. At least I had the presence of mind to ask who won!!

Next week is Leighton's 2 month appt - looking forward to seeing how much she has grown. As much as she eats I assume we're close to 10 lbs by now. Hadley is signed up for pre-school starting in January and has finally adjusted to one nap per day and an earlier bedtime.

Looking forward to more football watching, cooler temps, jeans and boots (especially since my jeans fit - woo hoo) and more of this crazy, hectic life. And Gossip Girl starting Monday - LOL.
