Trick or Treat

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Hadley was a "Princess Ballerina" (as just a regular ballerina would not do) and Leighton was Jessie from Toy Story. You just can't see the fake braid attached to her hat. One of these days the poor girl will have more hair :)

The summer in pictures

I am still alive; just hard to sit still long enough to blog. Hubby took a new job in July; he is on the road all the time. When he is home I travel. Girls are fabulous, growing and changing too fast. Hadley turns 4 in a month - YIKES! Leighton turned 2 in July and has really developed a neat personality. They are both very funny, very stubborn girls.

Happy Easter, Happy Spring

The next time I post, it will be summertime. The months are flying by as usual. The craziness never ends, the stress increases, the work piles up. But we're here, we're healthy and we're taking it all in one day at a time.

I got another year older...oh fun! Been traveling for work alot; just hired another employee in Denver and work is just crazy busy. The girls are in swimming lessons; Hadley picked up right where she left off last year. Leighton isn't too happy about it yet; only because she is very stubborn and wants to do things on her own timetable. She isn't scared of the water. We went down to the Dogwood Festival last weekend and will finally make it to the Zoo next weekend (I think I was in high school the last time I went to the Atlanta zoo). Leighton went to her first movie today - we saw Rio. It was very cute.

May is nuts with school stuff, work stuff, two nieces graduating and of course a much anticipated trip to Vegas. I can't wait.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!

Rebooting

Happy New Year! Oh wait, it's February...January was full of snow, sick kids, sick parents, and one sick computer. I am still trying to adjust all of my settings now that we have our laptop back. The girls seem like they are finally getting well, and after both Marsh & I broke down and visited the doctor this week I think we're getting back to normal too. Preschool germs are just awful!

Speaking of, Leighton started pre-school one morning per week; she is doing pretty well ie I haven't been called to pick her up early! Woo hoo! She cries less and less each week so we are making progress. Leighton is very much a momma's girl and is a bit clingly, whereas Hadley cannot wait to go go go and barely gives her poor mom a kiss goodbye. Hmmm,I'll let you guess which child has my personality and which one is moody like her father.

Plans for 2011 include a trip to VEGAS in May (can't wait and it's Julie's responsibility to keep me awake past 10pm). Then we are going on our very first, full WEEK family vacation in July. The deposit has been paid, there is no turning back. We're even taking the grandmothers again (and lots of wine). St. George Island is our destination.

I am kicking around the Rock n Roll Savannah Marathon in November, especially if Julie and her running buddies travel east for it! I want to run another full before Boston 2012. Maybe. Some days I feel like I am getting burned out again but I think that's just the cold weather and treadmill talking.

So I need to figure out the private blog thing; I'll go that direction as well. Stay tuned!

Kiawah Island Marathon 2010

Hard to believe it's all over! Marsh and I completed the Kiawah Island marathon last weekend. We drove over last Thursday - 2 cars, 2 kids and 2 grandmothers. It took ALL day :) Friday was packet pickup and an attempt to relax. Saturday was race day and Sunday was the trek home.

We woke up Saturday to rain. I had been tracking the weather for the past 2 weeks...no rain...therefore we did not have rain gear. I was so upset! But when we started to run the rain didn't bother me...when the rain stopped it was worse because it was cold!! I believe that is why I ran so fast - somehow I posted an official time of 3:32:34/ gun time 3:33:14 and placed 3rd in my age group. This was much faster than I had planned to run - I was just trying to hit 3:45. So I have officially qualified for Boston - woo hoo! Only down side is that Marsh missed his goal time. It's so much harder for the men,it's not fair. He is going to try again in March.

Here are some pictures...my mom was in charge of the camera hence the far away pics of the finish....

Hope the holiday season is in full swing for everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Another busy month of on the go. First was a business trip to Virginia for my company's 20th anniversary, 2 days after all of the Halloween fun. We had a big celebration so Marsh came with me; of course getting the girls taken care of was very stressful. Then it was on to Hadley's 3rd birthday! We were so fortunate to have nice weather again this year so we could have all of the festivities outside. The Cinderella party was a success (whew)...now it's time for Thanksgiving! Marsh and I will start the day by running the Atlanta Half Marathon and then we'll just eat lots of food (that hopefully I will prep starting tonight!). My mom, sister, brother and aunt & cousin are supposed to be joining us.

The marathon is 3 weeks away and I think I've reached the mental exhaustion point of training. I am ready to be DONE! We are taking both grandmothers with us so it's a quick vacation of sorts; it will be nice for the girls to spend QT with both my mom and more importantly Marsh's mother, as she doesn't get to see them very often.

Hope to get our Christmas tree up by Friday and then I need to do some online shopping! Best wishes for a safe and happy Thanksgiving. And while it's not looking too good...Go Jackets!
